Cody “Trees Are Tough” Styers

I got my start as computer repair and troubleshooting guy. Well ok, I got my start playing computer games in 1998 and every time the crappy home computer broke somehow "its the games fault” and I was NOT going to let that happen.

Between then and now I got a BS from University Central Arkansas in Family and Consumer Science. Getting a bachelor’s of science is no small feat and I was drawn to a FACS degree because of its multi dimensional approach to assessing healthy living.

Its “big picture” focus is on the array of problems a consumer faces to their health in the modern world. This includes overall well-being, impacts from economic fluctuations, stress levels, work environment, toxin exposure, diet, how food is handled, how that food system effects physical health, as well as the workload it takes to participate in these societal benefits. FACS takes it one step further by scoping their perspective in terms of a person, a group of people, AND a family unit. Each one of these has different priorities and means it takes more than one type of thinking to reach success!

There is a part of me driven to understand things with an emphasis on function. Making a software issue work right or working with a new technology to create something. Over time my understanding grew along with how technology use skyrocketed into everyday life. I wanted to take my skills , from working local IT support, into a bigger online business. I learned about how powerful (but technical) Facebook Ads were from a local dance studio. Immediately I knew it was only a matter of time before I would be able to confidently navigate these technical software waters.

I am really encouraged to be able to work with creativity driven small business owners because I KNOW they are the lifeblood of communities all around the country. Through experience I have seen they work more hours and those hours increase the value of people’s lives around them. I feel grateful to help bridge the digital gap between how they see their business growing and the technology best suited to make it happen.
